Ashford Wool Dyes are for all protein/animal fibres, including wool, alpaca, silk, soy fibre, mohair and others. They are easy-to-use, safe and comply with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (a worldwide textile standards system). The colours are clean and vibrant and very economical. Because they are 100% concentrate you only need 10g to dye 1kg (2.2 Lb) of fibre. Use white vinegar or citric acid to fix the dyes. Have fun creating your own colours!
Technically classed as Weak Acid Dyes. The dye powder is dissolved in hot water and either applied directly to the fibre/yarn with brushes or dipping and then steamed, or put in a large pot with the vinegar or citric acid, then brought to a simmer and held for a length of time until the dye strikes and the water runs clear.

Manufactured in Europe by Bayer and suitable for both the hobbyist and serious dyer. Colours have been carefully selected for compatibility and when mixed will produce a wide range of hues.

Ashford has some good online tutorials on various dye methods on the Ashford website.
