What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Contact forms
If you use the contact form to reach us, we will collect your information as provided in order to address your concernts and requests.
Cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Analytics
We collect data about website visitors. This may include information such as your location, the time of day you visited our site, which pages you visited, and whether or not you placed an order. This information is for data collection only/
Orders
For orders, we will collect such information as your name, shipping and billing address, along with your email and phone contact information. This information will be used to contact you in the case there is any question about some part of your order, and to get your products to you as ordered.
How long we retain your data
The information you provide to us in your account is retained indefinitely in order for you to revisit your account on our website. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website we store the personal information provided in your user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Your general data is protected and secure and is not sent to anyone outside of The Fibre Garden. When processing and fulfilling orders, your address will be required and shared with Canada Post in order to deliver your order to you.
Your contact information
Your contact information is collected in order to remain in touch with you or to process and ship your orders. If you join our newsletter list, you will receive periodic updates about our website and shop, workshops and other events, via email.
