Fibre preparation made easy. This carder has two exceptionally powerful motors to enable fleece and roving/top to be carded easily and quickly. It features a 12-inch (30cm) wide carding width and Fine 72 PPSI (points per square inch) teeth, which can handle a wide range of fibres. Makes batts up to around 135 grams (4.75 oz). Includes a dandy feed-in/dizzing stick that may be used to pull roving right off the drum.
Features include:
- Infinitely variable speed control for both drums plus a ratio control to vary the in-feed speed.
- Acrylic safety covers over the drums and the drive belts, and a magnetic safety switch, for safe use.
- Stepped tooth non-slip drive belts with belt tensioners.
- Additional on/off foot switch allows hands-free fibre preparation and feeding-in.
- When in reverse, for fibre removal, the drums rotate at 10% carding speed.
- Carding drums can be removed to clean bearings.
- 72 PPSI on the main drum, but 36 PPSI on the feed-in drum, which helps prevent it being clogged up by fibre.
- Manufactured in beautiful Silver Beech hardwood with a lacquered finish.

For the SINGLE-DRIVE Traditional or Traveller wheels. Fill your bobbins evenly with the squeeze-and-slide stainless steel hook. Fibreglass arms make these flyers light and strong. The yarn is controlled in the hook as you spin. A great way to update your older single drive Traditional or Traveller spinning wheel.
Kit includes 1 natural/unfinished Sliding Hook Flyer and 1 natural/unfinished 90mm Sliding Hook Flyer Bobbin. Also comes with a new cotton drive band and a wire orifice threading hook.
The flyer has stainless steel yarn guides, graphite/fibreglass arms, a 4-speed pulley. Orifice is 10mm (1/2 -inch) diameter.
Ratios: Traditional: 6.5, 9, 12, 18:1. Traveller: 5.5, 7.5, 10, 15:1.

The Country Spinner 2 was rejigged a few years back, and is a really awesome wheel with giant bobbins for spinning large amounts of bulky yarns and especially thick art yarns.
Ashford states that this wheel is for "big yarns".

This listing is for the lacquered version. We highly recommend getting the finished wheel, as many spinners are so excited to get going that they never get around to putting on a finish coat themselves. Unfinished wheels can get grubby looking fairly quickly, particularly the treadles.
This is a specialist wheel designed to spin extra bulky yarn used in rug weaving and chunky knitting or for plying bulk quantities. The orifice is extra large and the bobbins have a huge capacity. The ball bearings and double treadle allows for an easy start and treadling. The slow drive ratio and sensitive leather flyer brake system are ideal for creating unique novelty yarns.
