Our Lace Time™ yarn is 100% Superwash Merino. That might seem an odd choice to the lace-knitting enthusiast, but it actually makes a lot of sense if you tend to knit gifts for other people. The average person appreciates easy-care knitted garments. Intricate stitchwork always benefits from gentle washing followed by blocking, but at least this yarn isn’t going to be ruined if they toss it in the washer.
Dyeguy™ creates quite a number of colourways that are repeated and more are always being added. We choose carefully which colourways suit lace yarns — many knitters don’t want a “fussy” color for lace-work, they prefer a tamer yarn that allows the lace pattern to show to maximum advantage. Having said that, we are game to try anything, so if you want a particular colourway done on this base, we would love to do it for you. These are dyed right here at The Fibre Garden studio in small batches using professional-grade acid dyes. Wholesale inquiries welcome.
Approximately 115g (4.06 oz), 885m (968yd). 2-ply. As with most lace-weight yarns, we don’t list a gauge since open lace-work varies so much with the particular pattern and project.
Laundering: Machine wash gentle, tumble dry low, block flat or hang to air dry.

Lace Time – Blueberry Cobbler
A popular colourway that we do on a variety of base yarns. Bright medium-blue is dappled and splashed with violet and grape-juice purple, just like the stain on your shirt after you spill the blueberry cobbler. Random-dyed with no predictable repeat.

A very difficult colour to describe, this is an almost-solid medium wine-pink-brown tone.

Tone-on-tone, with ash-grey splashed and splotched with deeper charcoal. Random-dyed with no predictable repeat.

A rich sapphire-blue ground is overlaid in inky violet purple, sometimes with a flash of sky blue here and there. Random-dyed, no repeat.

Bright turquoise with streaks and splashes of lime green and occasionally sapphire blue. Almost the colour of your local outdoor pool. Random-dyed with no predictable repeat.

Lace Time – Twilight Brocade
We are very proud of this colourway, which pushes the limits of what is possible with kettle dyeing. Flashes of rose, salmon, green-gold, pale blue, sage-green and rusty-wine are all brought together on one yarn. Semi-repeating but unpredictably random at the same time.

Lace Time – Vampire
A gorgeous effect, with a ground tone of rich scarlet-red, overlaid with smoky black. Any vampire would be thrilled to wear socks or a scarf made from this colourway. Random dyed, no repeat. This looks similar to "Roasted Red Peppers" at first glance but "Vampire" is a brighter scarlet and the black is washed over, rather than painted on like grill marks.
