This fantastic new flyer gives you the freedom to spin fabulous, fun and funky art yarns on your Joy spinning wheel. With the enormous 25mm (1″) orifice and hooks you can spin and ply fibres, feathers, fabric, ribbons, cocoons and more. The open hooks make threading super fast and easy.
Kit includes 1 jumbo bobbin, jumbo flyer with large squeeze-and-slide stainless steel hooks. Fibreglass arms make these flyers light and strong.

Ashford launched the Kiwi Super Flyer in 2015, and reviews have been great. If you're wanting to delve into the world of art yarn, but also want the flexibility to spin a range of more regular yarns, this setup is excellent value and very versatile. The new Kiwi Super Flyer will fit all Kiwi 2 and Kiwi spinning wheels.
Comes as a kit and is super-easy to install: you only need to undo one bolt when you want to swap.
The Super Flyer has a very generous-sized orifice, 27mm (1-1/8 inch) to allow for lots of add-ins or thick amounts of fibre. It comes with Ashford's new Free-flow Yarn Guides which let you spin with no hang ups or catches, even when spinning wild yarns!
The kit includes:
- Three super-size bobbins, with a capacity of around 500g (1.1 Lb)resulting in less time changing bobbins and more yarn on the bobbin.
- a Lazy Kate. The bobbins are two large to fit on most standard ones.
- a new drive band/belt.

The Country Spinner 2 was rejigged a few years back, and is a really awesome wheel with giant bobbins for spinning large amounts of bulky yarns and especially thick art yarns.
Ashford states that this wheel is for "big yarns".

This listing is for the lacquered version. We highly recommend getting the finished wheel, as many spinners are so excited to get going that they never get around to putting on a finish coat themselves. Unfinished wheels can get grubby looking fairly quickly, particularly the treadles.
This is a specialist wheel designed to spin extra bulky yarn used in rug weaving and chunky knitting or for plying bulk quantities. The orifice is extra large and the bobbins have a huge capacity. The ball bearings and double treadle allows for an easy start and treadling. The slow drive ratio and sensitive leather flyer brake system are ideal for creating unique novelty yarns. Made from Silver Beech hardwood.
Ashford's redesign a few years back includes: new 3-speed bobbin with easy 3, 4 and 5:1 ratios. New polyurethane con-rod joints for smooth heel-and-toe treadling. Wider spaced treadle boards. Arched rails and factory assembled sides are easily assembled with bolts and barrel nuts. New maintenance-free polyurethane hinges for smooth and effortless treadling. Soft leather brake band and sensitive tension adjustment
