Majacraft Turkish Spindle Set
Majacraft Turkish Spindle Set
Canadian shipping only. Recently redesigned, Majacraft's new Turkish spindle set features four different sets of cross arms so you can select the best weight for the type of yarn you wish to spin. Made from Bamboo plywood with a single shaft measuring 30.5 cm (12 inches) with a small knob at the top end rather than a hook. The four sets of cross arms give an approximate total weight of 10, 15, 20 or 30g (.3, .5, .7 or 1 oz) We love the flexibility this set offers the spinner, letting you make any thickness of yarn you desire. Comes with a cute little fabric bag with a drawstring. Everybody will think you have a plastic recorder in your handbag -- remember those? Instead of playing "Hot Cross Buns" you can impress them with your spinning instead. PRODUCT of NEW ZEALAND

Majacraft Wave Shuttle
Majacraft Wave Shuttle
The wave shuttle is yet another innovative product from Majacraft. It is used in a similar fashion to a stick shuttle however it has a series of three "waves" on one edge and five on the other. As you weave, instead of using the heddle as a beater, the edges of the wave shuttle can beat down your warp to create unique patterns in your cloth.

It is 50cm/19.7" long and is laser cut from 1/4" (6mm) bamboo plywood that is both light and very strong. The "throat" of the shuttle is large so plenty of yarn can be wound on to the shuttle.

NOTE: because of the awkward shape, this item is set to ship separately. If possible we will pack it together with other products on your order and refund any excess postage.

Manx Loaghtan
Manx Loaghtan
Classification: PRIMITIVE BREED Lovely clean top with very little to no veg. This breed is native to the Isle of Man but is also raised in the UK. It was brought back from the brink of extinction and is considered a rare breed. The name is said to translate basically to "mouse brown" and that's exactly the colour of this top, sprinkled throughout with soft grey. Said to be excellent for sweaters and socks, and this feels plenty soft for either. Micron count for this top is 28 with a staple length of about 3 inches. According to a couple of our customers, this has average wet-felting properties. One reports that it did not work well for Nuno felting. PRODUCT of UNITED KINGDOM

Merino – Superwash White 22mic (Top)
Merino – Superwash White 22mic (Top)
SUPERWASH Merino. Classification: FINE WOOL The most common fibre offered as Superwash, this is lovely combed Merino top in an ivory-white colour. Micron count is 22, which is plenty soft for against the skin wear and a multitude of other uses. Perfect for knitting items that require easy laundering. Wool is conditioned through an enzyme process that strips off the outer scales, which prevents felting. This also makes for a different effect during the dyeing process, because Superwash fibre sucks up the dye quickly. Merino rates high for softness. Staple length is generally 2.5 to 4 inches. The Superwash treatment makes for a slippery feel during spinning when compared to untreated Merino, so it's not necessarily a good choice for beginners. NOTE: Superwash fibre is NOT GOOD FOR FELTING. PRODUCT of NEW ZEALAND
