This high speed bobbin is clear lacquered to match the finish of the S10, S10DT and S51, S51DT. This bobbin has been carefully crafted to make spinning at high speeds a breeze. The bobbin has a sheave with three settings on one end to obtain three different spinning speeds. The ratios are: 6.5:1, 9.5:1 and 15:1. The high speed bobbin is meant to be used with the Louet High-Speed Flyer, and will fit on all current and discontinued Louet Irish Tension wheels EXCEPT: S40, S45, Victoria, S87, S90. Flick Card, Louet
A flick carder (or "flicker") is used to open up locks of fleece before drum carding or spinning. Many spinners sit and do this on their lap, with a protective cloth of sturdy denim or leather. We prefer doing it on a high table on top of a piece of old vinyl flooring.
Louet Octagonal
From Louet, this is made from unfinished wood with an interesting octagonal-shaped whorl. Easily stained, painted or varnished if desired. Shaft length including hook, 25cm (9.8 inches). Whorl diameter is 6.5cm (2.6 inches). Weighs approximately 41 - 46g (1.4 - 1.6 oz). Another beginner spindle of excellent value, with a midrange weight that makes it great for spinning medium to thin yarns. Some people describe this as being "purse sized". No notch on the whorl but the interesting shape helps to keep your yarn from slipping.
