NEW!! We ask that you bring 2 LARGE TOWELS to the workshop for your own use..
Choose from several designs Chris has come up with. Make four small (4″x6”) pieces of felt art. Bears, rabbits, cottages, chickens, sheep or flowers. Make four the same or a variety of images. All materials will be provided for a $10 charge, payable at the workshop. A materials fee of $10 buys all supplies needed including blank cards, payable at the workshop.
Tools and equipment will be provided.

Learn the specialized technique of Nuno felting, using a foundation of gauzy silk fabric embellished with wool and other feltable fibres. Over the years this has been is our most popular workshop and always fills up quickly.
Tools and equipment will be provided. Fancy vintage printed Sari Silk Fabric can be purchased from the instructor (please bring $20 cash), or solid silk chiffon from The Fibre Garden or bring your own from home approximately 2 yards or meters x 18 inches or so. Fibre for felting is additional and may be purchased at the store before the workshop (usually in the range of $25 to $30) or bring feltable fibre from home if you wish.

Make your own stylish cross-body bag, in whatever colour scheme you desire. This workshop uses the "resist" technique, which you can adapt to make all kinds of other things such as hats, vessels and anything else hollow in the middle.

Tools and equipment will be provided. Materials may be purchased at the store (likely in the range of $20 to $25) or bring feltable fibre from home if you wish. Art Felt: Painting with Fibre – Saturday April 6, 2024

Saturday, April 6, 1 pm to 4pm, 1 pm to 4pm, room for 4 students maximum. Suitable for beginners.
NEW!! We ask that you bring 2 to 3 LARGE TOWELS to the workshop for your own use..
In this popular workshop, participants create a flat, wet-felted picture based on a photo you bring from home. It can be your own photo, something you find online or from a magazine, anything to provide inspiration! Chris suggests landscapes, houses, simple animals, etc. She will guide you through the "painting with fibre" process, and provide tips on how to embellish the finished art piece later.
Tools and equipment will be provided. We will have a "pool" of fibre for participants to use, as well as a prefelt piece to use as the foundation layer. Supplies are an additional $10 which you can purchase at the store the day of the workshop. For additional colour choices bring feltable wool fibre from home if you wish.
