Louet’s entry-level wheel, a good choice as a first wheel for the aspiring new spinner on a limited budget. The achieve cost savings, the main construction material is laminated birch. Smooth ball bearing operation like all Louet wheels, easy treadling and a well balanced spin that won’t disappoint. Irish Tension.

Effective Fall of 2010 the S17 is in a new version. It is no longer a kit, but partially assembled. Like with other Louet wheels, the final assembling is quick and easy. The unfinished wood is sanded and the edges are rounded. It only needs a finishing with lacquer, stain or wax.
